Keeping Touch Screen Monitors Clean and Sanitized

Keeping Touch Screen Monitors Clean and Sanitized

With the heightened focus on sanitizing high-touch surfaces used by employees and guests, many customers have asked about recommended cleaning practices for CallConnect™ touch screen call button monitors. These guidelines may also apply to other electronic display surfaces, including Point of Sale terminals and self-service ticket kiosks.

For best results, always follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for cleaning and disinfecting electronic equipment. To ensure compatibility and protect your systems, we also recommend consulting your PoS provider for their approved cleaning and sanitizing procedures.

Cleaning Your CallConnect™ Call Button Monitor

To help maintain the appearance and performance of your CallConnect™ Call Button Monitor, please follow these recommended cleaning guidelines:

  • Do not allow liquids to enter the unit.
  • Never spray cleaning solutions directly onto the monitor screen. Instead, use disinfecting wipes, a lightly sprayed cloth, or a damp cloth with excess moisture removed.
  • Use only non-abrasive wipes or soft cloths to help prevent scratching or damage to touchscreen surfaces.
  • Avoid highly concentrated alcohol solutions (greater than 70%), non-diluted bleach, or ammonia-based cleaners, as these may cause discoloration or surface damage.
  • Gently wipe all exterior surfaces using approved cleaning products and allow the unit to air dry completely before use.

Disinfecting Your CallConnect™ Call Button Monitor

To safely disinfect your CallConnect™ Call Button Monitor, follow these recommended procedures:

  • Use a new, clean, non-abrasive cloth lightly dampened with an approved disinfectant solution. Be sure to squeeze out any excess liquid before use. Recommended pre-moistened disinfecting wipes may also be used.
  • Carefully review and follow the disinfectant manufacturer’s instructions. Many products require surfaces to remain visibly wet for several minutes to achieve proper disinfection, so additional wiping may be necessary.
  • Gently disinfect all exterior surfaces using the cloth or wipe, then allow the surface to air dry completely.
  • For disinfectant solutions approved for use with CallConnect™ Call Button Monitors, please see the list below.
